DIY Body Scrub

Body Scrub
DIY

I found this recipe to make body scrub on Pinterest. It's so easy and you only need two to three ingredients.

I used granulated sugar and coconut oil. DO NOT use warming essential oils. I bought this one and after reading the label I realized it said "Do not use on body or clothing." So just the sugar and coconut oil had to do. It smells like coconut and even tastes delicious too!
Lets get started.

1. Measure out a cup of sugar and a half cup of coconut oil.

2. Combine the two ingredients and mix well in a medium/large bowl.

3. You can use a plastic bag and cut a small slit at the bottom corner to get the scrub into a bottle or whatever you choose to put your scrub in. This creates less of a mess then trying to spoon it into the bottle.

4. Voila! You have homemade body scrub.

At first, the body scrub is very liquidy. Depending on what room temperature you store yours in, it will become harder. I did not know this was going to happen. I had to unscrew the cap from the bottle when I used mine and squeeze/scrape it out. It works just fine but I suggest getting a different type of container such as a simple screw off lid where you can dip your fingers into the scrub instead of a squeeze top lid.

I bought all of the items (besides the ingredients) at the Dollar Store. I found "Hello my name is" tags and simply cut off the hello my name is part and wrote "Body Scrub" onto the label. I also bought some thin colored rope and tied it into a bow around the top. They turned out pretty cute!

There are the final products! I had to Instagram them because I thought we did a pretty good job. It's such a simple thing to make and you can give them out to family members and friends. This could be a good Christmas gift as well! The holidays are going to be here before you know it. Have a happy Colombus Day!
